The ” Grand Théâtre de Provence” offers more than 100 performances per year (on average), welcomes artists in residence throughout the year, also opens its studios and hall to the Festival of Lyric Art in Aix-en-Provence.
A unifying place
The “Grand Théâtre de Provence” purpose is to offer a unifying place around music (symphonic concerts, jazz, opera, recitals…) and dance, open to as many people as possible, music lovers and novices. It’s resolutely a pedagogic place !
Around the concert season, many workshops and meetings are open to everyone, in order to promote access to music. The “Grand Théâtre de Provence” with the support of the Assami Association, undertakes throughout the year operations to raise awareness of music for disabled audiences (prisoners, hospitals…).
An economic actor
The “Grand Théâtre de Provence”, which contributes greatly to the cultural dynamism of its region, also wants to be a real economic actor. Whith its own 110.000 spectators per year, it contributes to the attractiveness of a city and territory of 300.000 inhabitants which welcomes, thanks to its cultural and tourist initiatives, five to six times its population each year.
